We concluded the morning with congratulatory speeches and award presentations followed by a Fire Safety program presented by our very own Fire Department in support of Fire Prevention Week.

    • Isle La Motte Elementary School 5th & 6th-grade students participated in the Northwest VT Healthy Roots Collaborative Gleaning Program. They rode their bikes to Hall's Orchard and harvested over 600 pounds of apples which will then be distributed to the local food shelves in Grand Isle. The field trip was a total of about 7 miles.

Walk & Roll to School Display: We set up a table with info informing about our Walk and Roll to School Days, the Way to Go! School Challenge and walking school bus routes. We include useful brochures: Parents Guide to Bike Safety, Walking Guide, Bike Guide, Texting and Driving brochure, Motorists Offenses Fine Sheet (so can see what you pay for texting, passing school bus, etc.)

Wearing bright and light and what to do if you must carry something on your back (no backpacks please). All our second through sixth graders watched and this means 198 students received the program!
